The Story
India's wholesale price inflation fell sharply in November to 5.85% from 8.4% in October, thanks to a broad-based drop in price rise led by food items, for which inflation fell from 6.5% in October to just 2.2%.
Inflation in primary articles at wholesale levels halved at 5.5% in November compared to 11% in October. Fuel and power inflation fell to 17.35% in November as opposed to 23.2% in October and 31.1.% in September.
According to the Commerce and Industry Ministry, the decrease in inflation observed in November is primarily due to lower prices for food articles, basic metals, textiles, chemicals & chemical products, and paper & paper products compared to November 2021.
The high base effect from a year ago also played a role, as wholesale inflation stood at 14.87% in November 2021. The wholesale inflation hit 16.63% in May and has been decreasing for 6 months since then. Retail inflation also fell to an 11-month low of 5.88% in November, from a nearly eight-year high of 7.8% in April, owing to an 8% drop in vegetable prices.
FMCG

The Story:
Following the company's announcement of a premiumization strategy during its annual investor day on Wednesday, December 14, shares of Colgate-Palmolive India Limited, NSE: COLPAL, dropped by around 4%. At 12:45 PM, the stock was down 3.85% and trading at Rs 1,582 per share on the NSE. The counter has returned 8% so far this year, compared to a more than 20% increase in the Nifty FMCG during the same period.
Brokerages on the large FMCG company are split after it gave a presentation to investors earlier this week. While JP Morgan and Nomura have retained a "neutral" rating with a goal of Rs 1645 and Rs 1600, respectively, Jefferies has assigned Colgate-Palmolive India a "buy" call with a target price of Rs 1850.
Nomura stated in its analysis that it "would try to expand up personal care business and ramping up digitalization initiatives." Citi has recommended selling the stock with a target price of Rs 1450. The company said that it would be difficult to drive revenue by concentrating on both volume expansion and premiumization.
The statement read, "The company may need ongoing expenditures with outcomes that are probably delayed and would watch out for investments to create change in consumer behaviour." Powered toothbrushes and teeth-whitening goods are two of the company's priority areas in its premiumization plan, according to an exchange filing. The business said that it also intended to create a specific professional eB2B platform for dentists. The name of it would be DentistFirst. The addition of a new children's segment was also announced.
AUTOMOTIVE

The Story:
Audi altered the name of the e-tron series in the midst of its lifespan, which may be considered an uncommon decision. The Audi Q8 e-tron and Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron are the redesigned versions of the Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback. The name change is due to Audi's apparent intention to reposition these vehicles in the same market segment as the Q8 in the upcoming generation.
The next-generation Audi Q8 e-tron, which will be produced at Audi's facility in Brussels, will be unveiled in 2026, Audi said in late 2021. Audi's marketing department may not have seen the need to wait until 2026 for a vehicle worthy of the Q8 e-tron nameplate because the 2024 e-tron has undergone extensive alterations and the Q8 brand is associated with a high-end SUV.
TECH

The Story:
Many new security-related features for iMessage, the iPhone, and iCloud were recently unveiled by Apple. One of those features allows users of iPhones and iPads to perform two-factor authentication using a physical security key. The same feature, which enables users to configure third-party physical security keys as part of two-factor authentication for extra security, has now been enabled by the firm on the first beta of iOS 16.3. For all compatible iPhones, the stable version of iOS 16.3 is anticipated to be published in January 2023..
These security keys keep a special key that is used to verify the user's identity. You will be locked out of your own account if you lose the physical security key, and there is no way to unlock it unless you have a second physical security key that is mapped to the same account.
Anything Interesting

It is obvious that more people than was previously thought are a pain in the funny bone where it should be. The most recent indication is the result of responses to a new Vim advertisement from an unsettlingly large number of people on social media. The advertisement features a young man trying to impress a woman working out at the gym by complaining about his exhaustion from helping his mother with the dishes.
This is consistent with how many guys behave when they feel the need to receive praise for doing housework. The younger man's bubble is broken when an older man enters and makes fun of him for boasting about something that should be commonplace practice in any case: performing housework in general and washing dishes in particular. Since this is an advertisement and not just a message for the general public, he produces a "Black Vim for guys," which is obviously a "joke" product because many cleaning products are not gender-specific.
