ECONOMY

Key facts
From 6.77 percent in October 2022, India's consumer price-based inflation dropped to an 11-month low of 5.88 percent in November
After 10 months, the number has fallen within the 2–6% RBI tolerance range
The Story
The decrease can be ascribed to falling food prices, which make up over 40% of India's CPI basket. Inflation in the food industry was 4.67 percent in November, down from 7.01 percent in October.
Higher inflation has been a concern for central banks around the world, including India, as the unpredictable nature of the Russia-Ukraine war aggravated supply-side disruptions in the post-pandemic world that was barely going through a nascent recovery from economic shocks. However, the reduction in India's headline inflation index might be attributed to constant energy costs and falling crude oil prices.
FMCG

The Story :
FMCG players’ revenue is expected to grow at 7-9 per cent in this fiscal compared to about 8.5 per cent in the last fiscal largely driven by price hikes amidst inflationary pressures, as per an analysis by CRISIL Ratings. However, the rating agency pointed out that volumes are likely to grow in the range of 1-2 per cent lower than 2.5 per cent per cent growth in the last fiscal.
The study analysed 76 FMCG companies, which account for 35 per cent of the ₹4.7 lakh crore annual revenue of the sector.
AUTOMOTIVE

Key Facts :
This off-roading bike has been priced at ₹17,91,000 (ex-showroom, India)
the company has opened the bookings of this bike across all Ducati dealerships in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, and Chennai. The deliveries of this bike will start from the first week of next month.
The Story :
The Ducati DesertX, designed by the Centro Stile Ducati, has an aesthetic resembling a modern interpretation of the lines of the enduro motorcycles of the 1980s. The DesertX has a brazen and daring appearance thanks to its front 21-inch wheels. On its surface, the headlight and the twin full-LED DRL are integrated with the windshield.
If one of the riders is riding alone, the Ducati DesertX has the option of eliminating the passenger seat to make room for extended trips. Additionally, riders who plan to travel a longer distance can add an extra eight-liter rear gasoline tank.
The off-roading bike has a 937 cc Ducati Testastretta 11 degrees two-cylinder engine and transmission with the desmodromic distribution. Its engine has the capacity to combine seamless delivery with Ducati performance, producing 110 horsepower at 9,250 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.
TECH

The Story:
MTAR Technologies announced on Monday that it had reached an agreement with IN-SPACe India for the design and development of a two-stage, all-liquid small satellite launch vehicle for low-earth orbit. According to a company statement, "MTAR has signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) for the design and development of a two-stage, all-liquid, small satellite launch vehicle with a payload capacity of 500 kilograms for low-Earth orbit.
Seven strategically located manufacturing facilities, each focused-on exports, are part of the MTAR and are located in Hyderabad, Telangana. It serves the civil nuclear power, clean energy, space, and defence industries. Leading Indian organizations and international OEMs have been working with the company for more than 40 years.
Both parties have agreed into a framework Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering a variety of needs, such as avionics, subsystem testing, launch facilitation, etc., as well as any other requirements that may arise during the design, development, and launch phases. The Memorandum of Understanding is valid for three years.
Anything Interesting

The Digital currencies issued by central banks were unheard of five years ago. Now they are a trend. In addition to the 11 economies that are already using them, more than 40 others are either running pilots or are in the pre-trial development stage. Start with the most straightforward example: physical representation. Prior to the start of this month's retail e-rupee trial, the Reserve Bank of India raised the issue in October. There are only two possible design options. One option is to set a minimum value, like 1/100th of a rupee, and permit tokens of any value that can be combined without going over the set limit.
As insignificant as they may seem, choices like these will influence a world without cash. Early CBDC experimenters like China, Sweden, and South Korea have already largely abandoned using physical money. There, the authorities fear that unless they come up with an alternative, national money will be reduced to just a unit of account — yuan, krona, or won — without any physical presence. That might have unanticipated results. If a small number of strong private-sector platforms control the payment market, they might levy extra fees and charges. Suppose there is no testable way for people to get a more reliable public sector representation of their deposits and wallet balances. In that case, it will be difficult for people to continue believing that they are worth what the account statements claim.
